A Japanese vegetable juice company has designed a new a wearable tomato feeding robot for marathon runners. Yes. A tomato feeding robot.. Tomatan is a robot that can be worn as a backpack weighing 8kg (18 pounds) and dispenses tomatoes for people to eat while on the go. It features a tomato shaped head with a mouth that opens to dispense the tomato into circular metal arms that then come down over the person’s mouth to feed them a tomato.
I bet you’re all asking the big question here.. Why would anyone need this? Well, “Tomatoes have lots of nutrition that combats fatigue,” according to Kagome employee Shigenori Suzuki. Kagome is Japan’s largest supplier of tomato juice and tomato ketchup.
We have to say, even though this invention sure meets our weird standard – it is remarkably cute and wouldn’t say no to having one at the Junior Inventors office!
